The City of Seattle

When I became writing about the Seattle Seahawks, I was interested in the City of Seattle. So I will introduce some information about Seattle.

Fist, the city of Seattle is the biggest city in the Northwest in America, and it is called "the emerald city", because it is between Puget Sound and Lake Washington, and the city is encircled by water and nature. For example, Lake Union and Lake Green are nearby, so this city is beautiful. There are a lot of Japanese restaurants, so many Japanese tourists come there. I think that it's easy for Japanese people to live there. If I go to there and I want to eat Japanese food, I can find good Japanese food in there.

Secondly, it is famous a city that has many rainy days, but to tell the truth, this city's the amount of rainfall isn't as much as we think. Most of the rain is light rain, so people say, ‟ Real Seattle people don't put up theirs umbrellas; only tourists and cowards put up their umbrellas.”. When this city has a rainy day, but not heavy rain, most of real Seattle people only put on a hood with a parka.

Thirdly, this city is home to some big company. For example, the Boeing Company is there, as well as Tully's Coffee Corporation, which became famous for Seattle Coffee, Starbucks Corporation, Amazon.com and Costco. You know most of these companies, don't you? The first Starbucks store is there, so if you go to this city, try to go to the first Starbucks!! I think that is a good experience for you.

Fourthly, outdoor and winter sports are popular in this city, so there are some professional teams. Those are the Seattle Seahawks (NFL), the Seattle Sounders FC (MLS), the Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL), the Seattle Storm (WNBA) and the Seattle Mariners (MLB) and so on. I watch the Seattle Seahawks and the Seattle Mariners games, because I'm a big fan of the Seattle Seahawks and I love professional baseball too. I can only watch those games, so that is my dream.

Finally, one of a symbols of this city is the Space Needle. It was built when an international exposition was held in 1962. It is 184 meters high, so if you climb it, you can see beautiful views. Especially, the night view is so beautiful!! And other symbols of the city are Pike Place Market and Kerry Park. And I am surprised that the city of Seattle is a sister city of Kobe. Kobe is a Japanese city near Osaka. When I knew it, I felt close to the city of Seattle, and I want to go to the city of Seattle more.

Do you know "Big Mouth"?

Do you know the Seattle Seahawks player who is called "Big Mouth"? "Big Mouth" sometimes uses abusive language and his plays are violent, but he's a great American football player, and he graduated from the Stanford University, so he is clever too. This player's name is Richard Sherman. He was born in 1989 and he is 26 yeards old. I think that his long hair is his characteristic hairstyle, so if you can't find him, you should look for his long hair and his wearing uniform number 25. He has belonged to the Seattle Seahawks since 2011. His position is Cornerback (CB). The CB  mainly defends against the pass. If an opponent throws the ball and passes to the same team's player, the CB blocks the passed ball. So the CB must be quick at running, because this position competes with the attacking team many times.

When Sherman was a high school student, he belonged to the football team and to the track and field team. He left on many great records of both American football and track and field.

By the way, the Seattle Seahawks have played 5 games this season, but they only have 2 wins now. I thought about why the Seattle Seahawks aren't winning. Firstly, the Seahawks usually have an impregnable defense, but they're not can't showing it. Secondly, opposing players were being particularly careful to cover Marshawn Lynch, who I wrote about in the second post, when the Seattle Seahawks's offense attacked the enemy lines. But Lynch was injured in a game with the Bears on September 28th. I was surprised at this news and shocked. But I'm not worried, as some great NFL players joined the Seattle Seahawks this year, so I'm in expectating more wins from the Seattle Seahawks from now on.

Marshawn Lynch

Today, I'll introduce another important player of the Seattle Seahawks. His name is Marshawn Lynch. He is 28 years old, and his position is Running Back (RB). The RB is mainly running plays. Lynch is a Seattle Seahawks player now, but he was a Buffalo Bills player from 2007 to 2010, so he has belonged to the Seattle Seahawks since 2010. Some of his relatives were NFL player, so I think that becoming an NFL player was his desteny!! And I like his character, because when he entered the Super Bowl in 2014, he ate a chocolate bar on the bench during a game!! It's funny, so I like his idiosyncratic personarity.

In his University of California days, he set many records. For example, he ran for 3230 yards (a yard=0.9144m) in 3 years in his university days. And he made a new record at his university. This record is that he ran over 100 yards 17 times.

Lynch has made aome interesting records in his career. For example, when he was a rookie in 2007,  he ran over 100 yards in the same game as Fred Jackson, who is Lynch's teammate. The Bills hadn't had two 100 yards rushers in a game since 1996.

In 2010, Lynch played an active part. The one play, 8 opposing players tried to tackle him, but he dodged them and ran 67 yards and scored a touchdown!! The Seattle Seahawks won because of him. I like this kinds of play, because it's so cool and exciting, and I was supprised to know that his power is supernatural strength.
